With the iPhone 4S Apple introduced Siri, the Digital Assistant that has some great features for checking the weather. However, Siri uses the yahoo weather service rather than the UK's National Weather Service the Met Office. UK Siri Weather is a tweak to get official Met Office weather information in response to Siri queries. UK Siri Weather is a companion to UK Weather for iPhone which provides Met Office weather information in the default iPhone weather app as well as in the Notification Center Weather Widget. It requires the iPhone to be jail broken.
Clicking on the UK Weather button in the Siri response opens the Met Office forecast page for that location in Safari. You can also configure which app runs when you click on the forecast description if you want to run something other than the default iPhone weather application such as the offical Met Office app.
UK Siri Weather is an extension based on the AssistantExtensions framework.
UK Siri Weather also works with Wake With Weather, including the forecast description for today read out by Wake With Weather is the text description from the Met Office, not just the description of the icon shown.
To install on your iPhone launch cydia and search for "UK Siri Weather", select and then install.
